Tampa Bay Buccanneers
The Bucs dropped this teaser today, which points to new uniforms for next season. Some of the paper clippings say “Return to glory” and “Bucs’ new uniforms mold old with new”. The ending image features the Bucs red, brown, and orange colors so it looks like it will just be new uniforms with the same branding.
NBA All-Star
The rumored All-Star jerseys came out to be authentic and the NBA is doing something great to continue to honor Kobe & Gianna Bryant. The jerseys themselves I do not like, from the pinstripes, to the big star, to the names under the numbers. The memorial patch and band for David Stern are both nice tribute touches.
Tobacco Road
One of the most famous rivalries in all of sports, Duke vs North Carolina basketball, had their first matchup last Saturday and it did not disappoint. Duke came away with a 98-96 win in overtime, but they sure didn’t look great doing it.
Both teams wore the uniforms pictured above for a nod to the 1920s and I’m just glad there have been some advances in the last 100 years. For starters the blues are close enough where it can be hard to tell the difference during the game. They look like a knock off design where they only goal is to slap the logo on so it can be sold as Duke/UNC gear. Hopefully they don’t make the same mistake and wear these when the teams meet again later this season.
