Milwaukee Bucks Uniform Review

The Bucks released their 2017-18 uniform set on Thursday, which included the new Nike template and an advertisement patch from Harley Davidson. The jerseys are virtually the same as last year’s, mostly due to the fact the Bucks just went through a complete rebrand for the 2015-16 season. I would assume the black “Fear the Deer” uniforms will also be brought back, but the only confirmed third jersey for the Bucks right now is a throwback.

“The White”

The NBA is getting rid of the traditional home and away uniform sets for the 2017-18 season and will let teams decide what uniform they want to wear to any given game.
The white jersey is my favorite of the Bucks’ current options and remains so after some minor changes.
In general, I’m not a fan of brand logos on professional sports uniforms. That being said, the Nike logo is simple and color coordinated with the rest of the uniform, so I’m not going to get too upset with it being on the jersey.

The Harley Davidson logo is a different story. I definitely don’t want advertisements on my uniforms and one patch will lead to two and before we know it every uniform will look like a race car. Orange is definitely not apart of the Bucks’ color scheme and the Harley patch reminds me of something that would be put on for an overseas exhibition invitational classic game.

The last big (relative) difference is the addition of the cream “M” on the waistband. Although it will be hard to see from a distance, it’s a creative way to have the secondary logo on the uniform. I also love they didn’t make it obvious by making it green and gold on white can work in small doses.

“The Green”

Again, basically the same as the past two years. I think the Harley patch fits in a little better here, but the orange is always going to stick out on any of the Bucks jerseys. The waistband “M” is green on green here and you most definitely won’t be able to see it unless you’re wearing the shorts yourself.

One thing possibly being overlooked with the switch from Adidas to Nike is the actual material of the jersey. So far, Nike’s fit looks comfortable and more solid than Adidas on-court product. As long as Nike doesn’t follow in their own footsteps with the ridiculous slim back template they used in college basketball, their partnership with the NBA (no sleeved jerseys!) looks promising for years to come.

“The Verdict”

Wear it. Overall, the Bucks uniforms are unchanged for the 2017-18 season. The waistband logo and the Harley Davidson advertisement patch, aren’t big enough additions to ruin an already positive look from the Bucks.
We will find out later this month what throwback jersey the Bucks will add to their rotation. Personally I would like to see the same deer jersey they brought back a few years ago. I also wouldn’t be mad if they decided to add a cream or blue alternate in the future.
